đź’ˇ The Basics: What Is Ease and How Does It Work?

What is Ease?

Ease is a veterinary behavior service that helps dogs and cats with anxiety, reactivity, and other common issues without the wait or cost of a traditional specialist visit. We partner with your family vet to deliver expert behavior plans, medication guidance, and ongoing support, all through an easy-to-use digital platform.

What do pet owners get with Ease?

Everything you need to fix your pet’s behavior: a step-by-step behavior plan and expert medication guidance, all created by veterinary behaviorists and delivered in partnership with your family vet. Plus, on-demand videos, support tools, and real human help when you need it.

How do I know if Ease can help my pet?
If we accept your pet’s case, it means we’re confident we can help. While not every issue can be “cured”, most can be significantly managed and improved. Our team has supported thousands of pets.
What if I’m not sure what my pet needs help with?
That’s okay! Your vet’s referral helps ensure we’re targeting the right issue. You’ll also answer a short questionnaire to help us match you with the right support—no guesswork needed.

🧠 Veterinary Behaviorists vs. Trainers

What is a veterinary behaviorist?
Think of them as pet psychiatrists. They’re veterinarians with advanced training in both animal behavior and medicine, able to diagnose and treat complex behavior issues with behavior modification, training, and medication. There are only about 100 in the world, but 3 at Ease.
What makes Ease veterinary behaviorists special?

Our board-certified veterinary behaviorists (DACVBs) have completed years of specialty training, rigorous exams, and are credentialed to the highest standards. Plus, each has decades of experience. They’ve seen it all and helped thousands of pets.

Why is it so hard to find a veterinary behaviorist?

There are only about 100 DACVBs in the entire world, and fewer than 50 are accepting new clients. Ease brings their expertise to more families through a unique model that works through your vet.

How is Ease different from a trainer?
We love trainers and often partner with them! What makes Ease different is that our support includes expert medical insight and medication. We address the emotional and medical roots of behavior issues that training alone may not solve.

👩‍⚕️ The Role of Your Vet

Why do I need a veterinary referral for Ease?

In many states, laws require an in-person vet visit to treat your pet. Plus, working with your vet ensures medical oversight for testing, prescriptions, and overall care. Your vet prescribes medication with guidance from our DACVBs.

Why do Ease veterinary behaviorists talk to my vet instead of me?

Laws often require veterinary specialists to work through your family vet unless they’ve seen your pet in person. Our DACVBs design expert plans and guide your vet on meds, so you get top-tier care without the long wait or high cost.

How can this work if the veterinary behaviorist doesn’t talk to me?

Our DACVBs design structured plans that treat the condition, not just symptoms. You also get expert email support, and 1:1 Zoom coaching is available from other certified behavior experts on our team.

Why does my vet need help prescribing behavior medication?

Behavior meds are complex and require expert insight. Our DACVBs guide your vet in choosing the safest, most effective options for your pet, based on the latest research.

đź’Š Behavior Medication

How do I know if my pet needs behavior medication?
Not all pets need medication, but for some, it can be life-changing. If your pet is seriously fearful or anxious or not improving with training alone, medication may help. Our DACVBs guide your vet in choosing what’s best.
What if I’ve already tried behavior medication for my pet?

Not all meds are the same. Sometimes adjustments or new combinations are needed. Our DACVBs specialize in psychotropic meds and help your vet get it right.

What if I’ve already tried training and it didn’t work?

Training is important, but for pets with fear, anxiety, or reactivity, it’s often not enough. Our behavior plans go deeper and include medication guidance when needed.

đź’¸ Cost and Commitment

How much does Ease cost?

Ease offers a one-time fee that’s about 1/3 the cost of a traditional in-person consult, with no subscriptions or hidden fees. Cost varies based on the severity of your pet’s condition, but it’s usually around $200 pet pet, per condition. We also partner with Affirm to offer payment plans for as little as $18/month for 12 months.

How does Ease’s pricing compare to other options?
Our plans are typically less than a single session with a certified trainer and far more affordable than a DACVB consult. Every plan includes expert guidance, email support, and vet collaboration.
Why is Ease more affordable than a traditional veterinary behavior consult?
Because we deliver expert care differently. Our DACVBs create structured plans and guide your vet, bringing top-tier support to more families at a lower cost.
Is this a subscription? Are there any hidden fees?

Nope. You pay once for your behavior plan. Optional coaching is available if you want extra support.

🧭 Extra Support & Questions

How much time will this take?
Our plans are designed to be practical and easy to follow, with step-by-step guidance and progress markers. Many families start seeing change with just 15 minutes a day.
What if I want to talk to someone about my pet’s plan?

Every Ease plan includes unlimited email support. You can also book 1:1 virtual coaching with a certified trainer or vet tech from our team.

What if my pet has already seen a DACVB?

That’s great! Stick with them—that’s the best option. Ease is for families who haven’t had that access but still want expert support alongside their vet.
